چکیده

In this paper the problem of the determination of the preliminary orbit of a celestial body is studied. We compare the results obtained by the classical Gauss’s method with those obtained by some higher-order iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations. The original problem of the determination of the preliminary orbits was posed by means of a nonlinear equation. We modify this equation in order to obtain a nonlinear system which describes thementioned problem andwe derive a new efficient iterativemethod for solving it. We also propose a new definition of optimal order of convergence for iterative methods for solving nonlinear systems. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

GDOP Classification and Approximation by Implementation of Time Delay Neural Network Method for Low-Cost GPS Receivers

Geometric Dilution of Precision (GDOP) is a coefficient for constellations of Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites. These satellites are organized geometrically. Traditionally, GPS GDOP computation is based on the inversion matrix with complicated measurement equations. A new strategy for calculation of GPS GDOP is construction of time series problem; it employs machine learning and artif...

Orbital Perturbation Effect on LEO Satellite Trajectory

A satellite, in its orbit, is affected by perturbing forces, such as atmospheric drag, solar radiation pressure, Earth oblateness, and gravity of the celestial masses (other than the Earth). In this paper, the effects of these forces on the trajectories of different types of LEO satellites and a sample satellite (Z-SAT) are discussed. A few analyses are done on these orbits and the relevant res...

Testing for preferred-frame effects in gravity with artificial Earth satellites.

As gravity is a long-range force, one might a priori expect the Universe’s global matter distribution to select a preferred rest frame for local gravitational physics. At the post-Newtonian approximation, two parameters suffice to describe the phenomenology of preferred-frame effects. One of them has already been very tightly constrained (|α2| < 4 × 10, 90% C.L.), but the present bound on the o...

On the gravitomagnetic effects on the orbits of two counter–orbiting satellites

The effects of the general relativistic gravitomagnetic force on the orbits of a couple of counter–orbiting test particles, denoted as + and –, respectively, in the gravitational field of a central rotating mass are investigated. Based on the fact that, for identical orbital configurations, the secular Lense–Thirring rates of the nodes Ω are the same, contrary to the secular rates of the perige...

Evaluation of Geometric and Atmospheric Doppler for GNSS-RO Payloads

To reduce the sampling rate in global navigation satellite system (GNSS)-radio occultation receivers, it is essential to establish a suitable estimation of Doppler frequency from the received signal in the satellite onboard receiver. This receiver is usually located on low earth orbit satellite and receives GNSS satellites signal in the occultation situation. The occurred Doppler on the signal ...
